About MEPCO
MEPCO (Multan Electric Power Company) is the electricity distribution company serving Southern Punjab, regulated by NEPRA. It covers districts including Multan, Bahawalpur, Dera Ghazi Khan, Sahiwal, Vehari, Rahim Yar Khan.
MEPCO was formed in 1998 when WAPDA's Multan Area Electricity Board was turned into a separate company. By area it is the largest distribution company in Punjab, covering thirteen districts of the south of the province.
A large share of MEPCO's load comes from agricultural tube wells and cotton-belt industry, which is why summer demand — and summer bills — rise sharply here compared with the rest of Punjab.

Good to know about MEPCO bills
- Many MEPCO connections outside city limits are classed as Rural. If your bill shows "Not Found", switch the area type to Rural and try again.
- Tube-well (agricultural) connections have their own reference numbers and tariff — check them the same way as a domestic bill.
- For a wrong reading or a billing complaint, visit your sub-division office (its name is printed on the bill) or call 118.
